Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with 6+ years of hands-on experience in production support and Oracle database administration. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in managing Oracle database environments while possessing additional experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other database platforms.

The candidate should be experienced in ensuring database performance, availability, reliability, and security across on-premises and cloud environments (Azure GCP). Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, automation, and operational support skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide 24x7 production support for Oracle and other database environments through rotational shifts and on-call support.

- Administer, monitor, and maintain production and non-production database environments.

- Implement and manage:

- Database Backup Recovery

- High Availability (HA)

- Disaster Recovery (DR)

- Performance Tuning

- Perform routine database health checks and proactively identify performance bottlenecks.

- Optimize SQL queries and database configurations for maximum efficiency.

- Manage database security, user access, permissions, and compliance with organizational policies.

- Plan and execute database patching, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities with minimal downtime.

- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams during deployments and issue resolution.

- Monitor production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and document resolutions.

- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and automation tools.

- Maintain technical documentation, database configurations, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Required Skills Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science,



Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.

- Solid expertise in:

- Oracle Database (Mandatory)

- PostgreSQL

- SQL Server

- Other relational database platforms (preferred)

- Strong SQL scripting and database troubleshooting skills.

- Experience automating database operations using:

- PowerShell

- Shell Scripting

- Python

- SQL / T-SQL

- In-depth knowledge of:

- Backup Recovery

- High Availability (Data Guard, Clustering, AlwaysOn)

- Disaster Recovery

- Performance Tuning

- Experience with monitoring tools such as:

- Dynatrace

- Azure Monitor

- Nagios

- Experience with automation frameworks:

- Ansible

- Terraform

- Strong understanding of database security best practices.

- Experience with database patching, upgrades, and migrations.

- Knowledge of database auditing and license management.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced production environment.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP)

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

- Equivalent database administration certifications

- Hands-on experience with cloud database services on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

- Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
