Key responsibilities:

- Prepare the operating theatre before surgery.
- Check and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain strict sterility and infection-control protocols.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during procedures.
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments and sterile packs.
- Operate and check OT equipment such as suction machines, cautery units, surgical lights, and other devices.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation under the direction of the clinical team.
- Monitor availability of consumables, implants, and emergency supplies.
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and proper storage of instruments according to hospital protocols.
- Assist with counting instruments, needles, and other materials before and after surgery.
- Help transfer patients safely to and from the operating theatre.
- Maintain OT records, checklists, and documentation.
- Follow hospital policies, occupational-safety standards, and infection-prevention procedures.
- Assist with emergency and trauma surgeries when required.
