Job Description:
- Strong hands-on experience with SAN, NAS, and enterprise storage environments.
- Experience with storage provisioning, including LUNs, volumes, shares, and storage pools.
- Hands-on experience with thin and thick provisioning.
- Strong knowledge of SAN zoning, LUN masking, and storage connectivity.
- Experience with NFS, SMB, and iSCSI file/storage protocols.
- Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell EMC, HPE, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of RAID and storage controller configuration.
- Experience with storage firmware and OS upgrades.
- Knowledge of storage monitoring, IOPS, throughput, latency, and capacity management.
- Experience with backup and recovery integration using tools such as Commvault, Veeam, Rubrik, or similar.
- Experience with snapshots, replication, restore testing, and recovery validation.
- Experience in data migration between storage arrays and/or cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of storage security, access controls, permissions, and encryption.
- Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Knowledge of storage integration with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or HCI environments.
- Knowledge of cloud storage such as AWS EBS, Azure Disks, S3, or Azure Blob.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to coordinate with OEMs and vendors for hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of information security policies, compliance,
and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision and allocate storage resources including LUNs, volumes, shares, and storage pools.
- Configure thin/thick provisioning, SAN zoning, and LUN masking.
- Configure NFS, SMB, and iSCSI storage connectivity.
- Perform installation and initial configuration of enterprise storage arrays.
- Configure RAID, storage controllers, and storage pools.
- Perform storage firmware and OS upgrades.
- Monitor storage performance including IOPS, throughput, latency, and utilization.
- Identify storage bottlenecks and perform performance tuning.
- Monitor storage health, alerts, thresholds, and capacity utilization.
- Prepare capacity forecasts and storage utilization reports.
- Manage snapshots and storage replication.
- Integrate storage systems with backup and recovery solutions such as Commvault, Veeam, or Rubrik.
- Perform scheduled restore testing and verify backup/recovery readiness.
- Configure and manage local and remote replication.
- Perform data and LUN/volume migrations between storage arrays or to cloud platforms.
- Plan migrations to minimize downtime and validate data integrity after migration.
- Manage storage access controls, permissions, and security configurations.
- Support encryption of data at rest and in transit.
- Configure and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Participate in DR planning, failover configuration, and DR testing.
- Manage clustered storage and geo-redundant storage environments.
- Support tiered and archival storage based on data lifecycle requirements.
- Configure and manage integration with object storage platforms such as S3 and Azure Blob.
- Support storage integration with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and HCI environments.
- Provision and manage cloud storage resources such as AWS EBS and Azure Disks.
- Troubleshoot storage hardware, disk failures, controller issues, and connectivity problems.
- Analyze storage logs and escalate complex issues to OEM/vendor support.
- Coordinate with OEMs for hardware replacement, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Maintain updated documentation for storage configurations, installations, migrations, and changes.
- Ensure compliance with data protection, information security, and audit requirements.
- Support closure of storage-related audit findings.
