Job Title: Plant HR Manager
Department: Human Resources
Location: Plant/Manufacturing Unit
Reports To: Plant Head / HR Head / CHRO
Experience: 10+ years, preferably in a manufacturing/industrial environment
Education: MBA/PGDM in HR / MSW / equivalent qualification
Job Purpose
The Plant HR Manager is responsible for managing all HR and employee-related activities at the manufacturing plant, ensuring adequate manpower, strong employee relations, statutory compliance, workforce productivity, and effective implementation of corporate HR policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manpower Planning & Recruitment
- Prepare manpower plans based on production requirements and business projections.
- Manage recruitment of operators, technicians, supervisors, engineers, and support staff.
- Coordinate onboarding, induction, probation, transfers, and employee deployment.
- Ensure optimum manpower utilization across shifts and departments.
2. Employee & Industrial Relations
- Maintain positive employee relations and a disciplined work environment.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary cases, absenteeism, misconduct, and workplace conflicts.
- Manage interaction with employee representatives, unions, and worker committees.
- Support negotiations and collective settlements where applicable.
- Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
3. Statutory & Labour Law Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable central and state labour legislation.
- Monitor statutory requirements relating to wages, working hours, overtime, leave, social security, contract labour, welfare, and employment conditions.
- Maintain required registers, records, notices, and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate labour-law inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance by manpower/service contractors.
4. Contract Labour Management
- Manage deployment and administration of contract workers.
- Monitor contractor attendance, wages, documentation, statutory compliance, and workforce requirements.
- Ensure contractor compliance with applicable labour and social-security requirements.
- Conduct periodic contractor compliance audits
