Head Supply Chain Management | Bengaluru

ESCON Gensets Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Head Supply Chain Management to lead Procurement, Materials, Inventory and Stores operations for its manufacturing facility.

The candidate will be responsible for strategic procurement, vendor development, cost optimization, inventory control, material planning and ensuring timely availability of materials for production.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead procurement, purchase, materials and stores operations.
- Develop sourcing strategies for engines, alternators, sheet metal, silencers, acoustic insulation and other industrial components.
- Identify, develop and negotiate with suppliers for quality, cost and delivery.
- Drive vendor development, alternate sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage inventory levels, material planning, MRP, FIFO and JIT practices.
- Ensure timely material availability to support production schedules.
- Oversee stores, inward/outward material movement, stock accuracy and cycle counting.
- Monitor purchase budgets, pricing and supplier performance.




- Implement and optimize SAP/ERP-based procurement and inventory processes.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Finance, Logistics and Engineering teams.
- Lead and develop the Purchase, Stores and Inventory team.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety and environmental requirements.

Candidate Profile

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Business Administration or related field.
- 14+ years of experience in Procurement, Materials, Supply Chain, Purchase, Inventory or Stores.
- Strong experience in manufacturing / engineering / industrial products.
- Proven expertise in vendor development, strategic sourcing, negotiation and cost reduction.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, material planning and stores operations.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Tally or similar ERP systems.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, JIT, Kaizen or Six Sigma is preferred.
- Experience with power generation, gensets, electrical equipment, sheet metal or engineering components will be an advantage.
