Roles & Responsibilities Performance Test Engineer
- Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts using Gatling and Scala.
- Conduct load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing to validate application performance.
- Gather and analyse Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and convert them into performance test scenarios.
- Perform performance engineering activities to identify, analyse, and resolve system bottlenecks.
- Define workload models, load profiles, test data, and performance benchmarks.
- Analyse application, database, infrastructure, and API performance during test execution.
- Use Splunk and APM tools such as AppDynamics/New Relic to monitor application behaviour and identify performance issues.
- Investigate response-time degradation, throughput issues, resource utilisation, memory/CPU bottlenecks, and scalability problems.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Prepare detailed performance test reports, analysis, findings, and recommendations.
- Maintain and enhance performance test scripts and reusable testing frameworks.
- Integrate Gatling performance tests into Git/Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Support performance testing across different environments and ensure appropriate test data and workplace readiness.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, planning, estimation, and technical discussions.
- Continuously improve performance testing strategies, frameworks, and automation practices.
