Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Python Developer with experience in designing, developing, and maintaining applications that leverage Business Rules Engines (BRE). The ideal candidate will have strong Python development skills, a good understanding of business rule management, and experience translating complex business requirements into configurable and maintainable rules.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python.
- Develop and implement business rules and decision logic using Business Rules Engine frameworks/platforms.
- Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical solutions and executable rules.
- Design rule models, decision logic, rule flows, and rule validation mechanisms.
- Integrate BRE solutions with Python applications, APIs, databases, and other enterprise systems.
- Develop REST APIs and backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Optimize business rules and application logic for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application logic, rule execution, integrations, and production environments.
- Write unit, integration, and automated tests for Python applications and business rules.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects, QA, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established coding, security, and development standards.
- Document business rules, technical designs,



APIs, and implementation details.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications across development, testing, and production environments.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong hands-on experience in Python development.
- Experience with Business Rules Engine (BRE), rule engines, or decision management platforms.
- Understanding of concepts such as:
- Business rules and decision logic
- Rule authoring and management
- Rule execution and evaluation
- Rule versioning and lifecycle management
- Decision tables / rule tables
- Rule prioritization and conflict resolution

- Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with Git and standard software development practices.
- Good understanding of unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

Experience Level

35 years of relevant software development experience, with hands-on experience in Python and exposure to or strong experience with Business Rules Engine technologies.
