Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager Cost Estimator (BD – Mining) to support business development and tendering activities in the mining sector. The role will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, commercial proposals, budgets and tender submissions while coordinating with technical, procurement, projects and business development teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs and commercial proposals for mining projects.
- Analyze tender documents, scope of work, specifications and drawings.
- Develop project cost estimates covering manpower, materials, equipment, subcontracting, logistics and overheads.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
- Prepare rate analysis, cost sheets and pricing summaries.
- Support the BD team in preparing competitive and commercially viable bids.
- Conduct cost benchmarking and market analysis to improve estimation accuracy.
- Identify cost risks, assumptions, exclusions and commercial deviations.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Projects, Finance and Operations teams for estimation inputs.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions and tender clarifications.
- Support preparation of techno-commercial offers and tender presentations.
- Maintain estimation databases, historical project costs and vendor rate records.
- Review project profitability,



margins and commercial feasibility before bid submission.
- Ensure timely submission of accurate estimates and proposals.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, tendering and commercial bidding.
- Understanding of mining projects, EPC/project execution and contracting.
- Positive knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, quantity estimation and costing methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings and scope documents.
- Strong vendor/subcontractor quotation evaluation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation/costing tools.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and commercial skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under tight tender submission timelines.

Qualification

- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Mining, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- MBA/PG qualification in Business Development, Project Management or Commercial Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Cost Estimation, Tendering, Business Development or Commercial functions.
- Experience in Mining / EPC / Infrastructure / Industrial Projects preferred.

Preferred Profile
