Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer (Crane, Logistics & Heavy Lift Coordination) Wind PMC will support monitoring and coordination of heavy-lift, crane, and logistics activities associated with utility-scale wind projects. The role ensures readiness of lifting infrastructure, transportation routes, component deliveries, and crane deployment plans supporting turbine erection activities.
Key Responsibilities
Crane & Heavy Lift Coordination
- Monitor crane mobilization, assembly, dismantling, and relocation activities.
- Review crane utilization plans and readiness requirements.
- Track lifting interfaces supporting turbine erection schedules.
Logistics Management
- Monitor transportation of major components including towers, nacelles, hubs, and blades.
- Coordinate delivery sequencing and laydown area utilization.
- Support component preservation and storage readiness assessments.
Interface Monitoring
- Coordinate activities between Civil, Logistics, HSE, and Mechanical Erection teams.
- Review readiness of routes, crane pads, rigging resources, and component availability.
- Identify and escalate logistics bottlenecks affecting project productivity.
Reporting & Governance
- Maintain logistics and heavy-lift readiness reports.
- Track crane movement constraints and recovery actions.
- Provide coordination updates to project leadership.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Construction / Heavy Lift Management.
Experience
- 5-10 years of experience in crane operations, heavy lifting, logistics management, or wind energy projects.
Certifications
- Appointed Person/Lifting Supervisor certification preferred.
- Rigging, crane safety, and heavy-lift planning training desirable.
