Role & responsibilities
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid C Licence is mandatory.
- Electrical safety or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
- Experience in chemical / process / manufacturing plants is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in HT/LT electrical systems and plant maintenance will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Maintenance
- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Maintain HT/LT panels, MCC, PCC, transformers, motors, switchgear and distribution systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment safely and efficiently.
- Attend electrical breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
- Inspect electrical equipment regularly and identify potential failures.
2. HT/LT Operations
- Carry out HT/LT switching operations as per approved procedures.
- Monitor electrical parameters including voltage, current, load and power factor.
- Maintain electrical distribution systems and ensure reliable power supply to plant operations.
- Perform isolation, electrical testing and restoration activities as authorized.
3. Plant Electrical Equipment
- Maintain induction motors, pumps, compressors, fans, blowers and other electrically operated plant equipment.
- Attend electrical issues related to process equipment and utility systems.
- Maintain lighting systems, emergency lighting and electrical accessories.
- Assist in installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
4. Safety & Statutory Compliance
- Strictly follow electrical safety procedures and plant safety rules.
- Ensure proper isolation, earthing and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures before starting maintenance work.
- Use appropriate PPE and electrical safety equipment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical statutory requirements.
- Immediately report unsafe electrical conditions and potential hazards.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and emergency drills.
5. Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
- Follow the approved preventive maintenance schedule.
- Record maintenance activities, breakdown details and corrective actions.
- Maintain electrical equipment history and inspection records.
- Assist in identifying recurring electrical problems and implementing permanent corrective actions.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in electrical rooms and work areas.
Required Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems.
- Knowledge of transformers, motors, MCC, PCC and switchgear.
- Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical protection systems.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance practices.
- Basic knowledge of control systems and instrumentation will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and statutory requirements.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.

- Ability to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns.
