Job Summary

Appbay Technologies is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Associate Databricks Developer to join our growing data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data processing, databases, and programming, along with a keen interest in cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies. You will work closely with senior developers, data engineers, and business teams to build scalable data pipelines, process large datasets, and support data-driven business solutions using Databricks.

Responsibilities

- Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of data pipelines using Databricks.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to support data engineering and analytics initiatives.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
- Collaborate with team members to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Python, SQL, and Spark.
- Support data integration activities involving databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processing jobs to ensure reliability and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation activities.
- Learn and implement best practices for data engineering, cloud technologies, and data governance.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and advancements in Databricks and modern data platforms.





Required Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or data analytics.
- Basic knowledge of Python programming.
- Understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and data processing concepts.
- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of Apache Spark concepts is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn cloud and big data technologies.

Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Databricks, Apache Spark, or cloud data platforms.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and contemporary data architectures.
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
- Experience working with APIs and data integration concepts.
- Databricks Fundamentals or cloud certifications will be an added advantage.
