The role will be responsible for leading the entire finance function in India, ensuring robust financial reporting, taxation, and compliance frameworks, while acting as a strategic business partner to the leadership team.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical finance expertise combined with commercial acumen, leadership capability, and the ability to navigate the complexities of operating as an MNC subsidiary in India and specially working in manufacturing industryKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & LeadershipAct as the Finance Head/CFO for India operations, providing strategic financial leadership to the CEO/MD and leadership team.Partner with global/regional finance leadership to align India's financial strategy with overall corporate objectives.Drive business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.Provide financial insights and analysis to support key business decisions, capital investments, and expansion plans.Financial Reporting & ControlsEnsure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Indian GAAP / Ind AS and Group reporting requirementsOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books of accounts.Establish and maintain robust internal controls, SOPs, and financial governance frameworks.Manage statutory and internal audits,
ensuring clean audit reports and timely resolution of observations.Taxation & ComplianceEnsure full compliance with Indian direct and indirect tax laws (Income Tax, GST, Transfer Pricing, TDS, Customs, etc.).Manage tax assessments, litigations, and liaise with tax authorities and external consultants.Oversee compliance under Companies Act, FEMA, RBI regulations, and other applicable statutory/regulatory requirements.Monitor changes in regulatory and tax landscape and proactively assess business impact.Manufacturing & Costing (Domain-specific)Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, plant-level costing, inventory valuation, and standard costing.Drive cost optimization initiatives across plant operations and supply chain.Partner with plant/operations teams on capex evaluation, working capital management, and productivity improvement.Business Partnering & LeadershipAct as a trusted advisor to the India leadership team on all financial and commercial matters.Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team across accounting, taxation, FP&A;, and treasury functions.Drive process improvements, automation, and digitization within the finance function.Represent finance in cross-functional forums, driving alignment between finance, operations, sales, and supply chain.Treasury & Risk ManagementManage banking relationships, working capital, and cash flow management.Oversee forex risk management,
given the MNC nature of operations.Identify and mitigate financial and business risks; ensure adequate insurance coverage.Desired Candidate ProfileQualificationChartered Accountant (CA) mandatory; CPA/CMA/MBA (Finance) will be an added advantage.Experience15+ yearsof progressive finance experience, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership/CFO-equivalent role.Prior experience in amanufacturing MNCenvironment strongly preferred.Proven experience working in an MNC subsidiary structure, with exposure to global reporting and stakeholder management across geographies.Strong hands-on experience in Indian financial reporting, direct/indirect taxation, and regulatory compliance (Companies Act, FEMA, RBI).Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and people management skills; ability to build and mentor teams.Excellent business partnering skills — ability to work closely with CEO/MD and cross-functional leaders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.High level of integrity, ownership, and accountability.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable interacting with global leadership.Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial planning tools.Ability to work in a rapid-paced, matrixed MNC environment.Key Attributes We're Looking ForStrategic mindset with strong execution capability.Ability to balance global compliance standards with local (India) regulatory nuances.Hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach typical of manufacturing environments.Strong governance orientation and comfort with a high-compliance, audit-intensive environment.CompensationAs per industry standards / commensurate with experience (to be finalized based on client input).Prepared by: SW IndiaFor internal recruitment/client sharing purposes
