- Perform journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Payroll related journal entries (salary, tax, social security, leave, commissions, bonus accruals).
- Validate payroll accounting files received from vendors or internal before posting.
- Ensure accurate mapping of GL accounts, cost centers, and payroll codes.
- Analyse Balance Sheet and Proft & Loss variances and explain key movements
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS as relevant)
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Support the payroll team with various administrative tasks and projects as needed
- Assist with the preparation and filing of payroll taxes
- Identify gaps in accounting processes and recommend improvements.
- Support automation initiatives to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in journal posting and reconciliation required.
- Experience in a shared services or multinational environment (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with ERP systems (Blackline, Oracle, D365, or similar).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team workplace
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well-organized, extreme attention to detail and a self-directed individual
