The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

- Work with key stakeholders (Design, Marketing, Manufacturing,...) and globally distributed teams in defining the release schedule, ensuring all proper sign-offs are in place to deliver our consumers.

- Develops module/technology roadmap to support Product Plans and attainment of Attribute targets

- Develop the technical solutions that will enable product leadership.

- Manage module development vs. knowledge creation and capture prioritization module level resource prioritization

- Drive Recent Product Development / Cost & Quality projects for Laundry business with a focus on Aesthetics & structural components (Washer Top panels & Lid Assemblies)

- Concept development, design creation, concept evaluation & selection, verification & validation and implementing into production (plastics, sheet metal, rubber and glass components)





- Work with procurement and suppliers to coordinate developing the tools by running the DFM’s and manufacturability reviews

Your responsibilities will include

- Led Product / Subsystem / Module / Component designs & release drawings as per the requirements in terms of cost, quality and timelines of the project.

- Product Design tools - Concept Selection Matrix, DFMEA, Tolerance Stack Ups, DVP etc.

- Generate Model Shop / Lab requests / Simulation requests and support in Virtual/ Physical builds.

- Participate in and lead Technical Design Previews for Modules / Components.

- Understand the PPAP process and lead implementation of change in Product.

Minimum requirements

Education- B. Tech - Mech/ BE Mech M. Tech/M.E. - Design / Mechanical

Experience- 10 to 12 years

TECHNICAL

- Problem-solving approach with OPEX (Operational Excellence) or Six Sigma certification.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical,Production, Material

- Experience facilitating effective communication across teams.

- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.

- Knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them to establish and/or improve processes

- Excellent Interpersonal skills, decision-making, planning, project management, and leadership skills





- Detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects

- Team player

- Result oriented

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. This includes the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Whirlpool’s organization

Preferred skills and experiences

MANAGERIAL

- Exposure/experience of working in a global engineering team environment

- Team player, flexibility in adapting to quickly changing business task/project priorities.

- Good business communication (written/verbal) and Presentation skills
