Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced R&D; Head – Paints & Coatings to lead the Research & Development function for a growing Paints business. The role will be responsible for developing and commercializing Industrial and Decorative Paints, Primers and Specialty Coatings, while driving formulation innovation, product performance, cost optimization and customer-specific product development.

The ideal candidate will combine robust formulation chemistry and application expertise with a commercial mindset and will work closely with Business Development, Sales, Production, Quality and customers to translate market requirements into technically robust and commercially viable products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and improve Industrial Paints, Primers, PU, Epoxy, Alkyd, Acrylic, Coil, Protective and Specialty Coatings.
- Lead new product development from laboratory formulation to pilot trials, scale-up and commercialization.




- Work closely with Sales and Business Development to develop customer-specific industrial coating solutions.
- Provide technical support during customer trials, product approvals and application troubleshooting.
- Drive value engineering, raw material optimization and formulation cost reduction.
- Evaluate new resins, pigments, additives and coating technologies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant VOC, REACH, RoHS and customer specifications.
- Lead and mentor the R&D; team and manage laboratory activities.

Candidate Profile:

- 10–15 years of R&D; experience specifically in Industrial Paints / Industrial Coatings.
- Strong hands-on expertise in formulation chemistry, troubleshooting, scale-up and commercialization.
- Experience in PU, Epoxy, Alkyd, Acrylic, Protective, OEM, General Industrial or Coil Coatings.
- Exposure to OEM, engineering, infrastructure, automotive, metal or protective coating applications preferred.
- Experience in customer trials and technical-commercial interaction is highly desirable.

Qualification:

B. Tech./M. Tech. – Chemical / Polymer / Paint Technology or M. Sc. Chemistry.

Ph.D. is an added advantage.
