About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who takes complete ownership of software solutions—from architecture and design through development, deployment, and production support.

You will work on a large-scale healthcare data platform processing millions of provider records from multiple heterogeneous data sources. This role offers significant technical ownership and the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering practices, API strategy, data reliability, and platform scalability.

The ideal candidate should have deep experience in Java, distributed systems, API architecture, Kafka-based event-driven systems, cloud platforms, and data-intensive applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, deploy, and own production-grade software systems.
- Build and evolve APIs used by multiple downstream integrations.
- Define API versioning, backward compatibility, and contract-first development strategies.
- Design scalable distributed and event-driven architectures.
- Build reliable integration patterns for heterogeneous upstream data sources.
- Implement:
- Idempotent consumers
- Retry strategies
- Dead-letter queues
- Circuit breakers
- Reconciliation pipelines
- Eventual consistency patterns
- Develop high-throughput Kafka-based services.
- Handle schema changes and integration failures without disrupting downstream consumers.
- Work on large-scale data normalization and provider record reconciliation.
- Contribute to entity resolution and Master Data Management (MDM) patterns.
- Improve platform reliability using SLOs, alerting, monitoring, and observability.
- Instrument data quality, lineage, freshness, and correctness.
- Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and influence technical direction.
- Work closely with product and leadership teams to solve complex engineering problems.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, MCP servers, and Codex while maintaining strong engineering and review standards.

Experience working with large, distributed datasets will be highly preferred.

The candidate should be comfortable using AI to accelerate development while maintaining strong code reviews, testing, security, architecture, and quality standards.

Experience in regulated or compliance-focused environments is preferred.
