QA Engineer
About Hexxcell
Hexxcell develops advanced digital technologies that help industrial companies operate more efficiently, safely and sustainably.
Our flagship software platform, Hexxcell Studio™, combines engineering knowledge, data analytics and advanced modelling to support the monitoring, prediction and optimisation of industrial assets.
We are an international and growing team of engineers, software developers and technical specialists. We value collaboration, curiosity, accountability and practical problem-solving. Everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions and help improve both our technology and the way we work.
The Role
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team in India and help ensure that Hexxcell Studio™ delivers a reliable, intuitive and high-quality experience to our customers.
You will work closely with software developers, product owners, applications engineers and other members of the technical team to test new features, identify defects and improve the overall quality of the platform.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is methodical, curious and comfortable investigating how complex software behaves. The role requires a solid automation mindset and an understanding of application performance, scalability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Review software requirements and understand expected system behaviour.
- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases and test scenarios.
- Perform functional, regression, integration and user-interface testing.
- Test new features across different workflows, assets and user configurations.
- Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for functional and regression testing.
- Perform performance testing, including Load, Stress and Soak testing, to validate system scalability, stability and reliability.
- Monitor and analyse application performance metrics,
including response time, throughput and error rates, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Identify, document and track software defects clearly and accurately.
- Reproduce reported issues and support developers in diagnosing their causes.
- Verify that defects have been resolved correctly.
- Participate in product reviews, sprint planning and release activities.
- Help improve testing processes, documentation and quality standards.
- Represent the user's perspective and challenge anything that may affect usability, reliability or performance.
Skills and Experience
Required
- Experience working as a QA Engineer or Software Tester.
- Good understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Experience writing clear test cases and defect reports.
- Experience testing web-based software applications.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (automation is mandatory).
- Experience developing and maintaining automated UI and/or API test suites.
- Understanding of performance testing concepts, including Load, Stress and Soak testing.
- Experience analysing application performance metrics such as response time, throughput and error rates.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
- Good written and spoken English.
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial
- API testing.
- SQL and database testing.
- Performance and security testing.
- Agile software development.
- Testing engineering, industrial or data-intensive software.
- Experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, JMeter, k6, Locust, Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Familiarity with application monitoring and observability platforms.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work on innovative software used to solve real industrial challenges.
- A collaborative and supportive international working environment.
- Direct interaction with developers, engineers and company leadership.
- The opportunity to influence the development and quality of Hexxcell Studio™.
- A culture where ideas are welcomed and individual contributions are visible.
- Professional development and the opportunity to grow with the company.
- Exposure to advanced engineering, data analytics and industrial digitalisation.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality and does not simply check whether software works, but asks whether it works correctly, consistently, performs reliably under load and delivers an intuitive user experience.
The successful candidate will be proactive, dependable and willing to take ownership. You should be comfortable raising concerns, suggesting improvements and working constructively with colleagues to deliver the best possible product.
We are particularly interested in someone who embraces automation-first testing, understands application performance characteristics, and is passionate about continuously improving product quality.
Salary: ₹10–18 lakh per annum, depending on experience, technical skills and suitability for the role.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
