Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Analyst to manage accounting operations and financial reconciliations for our insurance broking business. The role will involve handling client and insurer accounts, premium collections, commission accounting, reconciliations, MIS reporting, statutory compliance, and month-end closing activities.

The ideal candidate should have robust accounting fundamentals, good knowledge of Excel, and preferably experience in the insurance broking/insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities related to the insurance broking business.
- Maintain and reconcile client accounts, insurer accounts, and broker accounts.
- Perform premium collection and premium settlement reconciliation.
- Reconcile insurer statements with internal accounting records.
- Track and reconcile insurance premiums, refunds, cancellations, and adjustments.
- Record and reconcile brokerage/commission income received from insurers.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up for timely collections.
- Verify invoices, debit/credit notes, receipts, payments, and supporting documents.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
- Prepare MIS reports, ageing reports, collection reports, commission reports, and reconciliation statements.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams to resolve them.
- Support GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory accounting/compliance requirements.
- Assist auditors by providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with internal accounting policies.
- Coordinate with Insurance Operations, Sales, Claims, Finance, Insurers, and Clients for accounting-related issues.




- Assist in improving financial processes, controls, and reconciliation procedures.

Insurance-Specific Responsibilities

- Handle accounting for insurance premiums and brokerage/commission income.
- Reconcile premium collected from clients against amounts payable to insurers.
- Track insurer-wise and client-wise outstanding balances.
- Validate insurer statements and resolve differences.
- Monitor commission receivables/payables and ensure timely reconciliation.
- Support accounting related to policy cancellations, endorsements, refunds, and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance transactions and settlements.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment of insurance-related transactions as per company policies and applicable regulations.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of Accounting principles and financial statements.
- Good knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Bank Reconciliation.
- Experience in premium reconciliation and commission accounting will be preferred.
- Strong MS Excel skills – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF formulas, etc.
- Experience with accounting software/ERP such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, NetSuite, or similar.
- Good understanding of GST and TDS.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with large volumes of financial data and meet deadlines.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CA Inter / CMA / ACCA or equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹650,000.00 per year
