Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, strategic and transformation-oriented Global Procurement Category Manager – Technology Services to shape the future operating model for how NetApp sources, governs and manages Technology Services spend. This role goes beyond executing sourcing events and negotiations: it is expected to build a clear point of view on how NetApp should modernize its Technology Services supplier ecosystem, simplify ways of working, strengthen governance, improve speed and user experience, and unlock greater business value through data, AI and digital procurement capabilities. The role partners with Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal and business leaders globally, primarily across the Americas and India, to translate business priorities into scalable category strategies and future-ready procurement practices.
Job Requirements
- Define and lead the future-state category strategy for Technology Services, including a multi-year roadmap
- Build a data-driven point of view on how NetApp should evolve its Technology Services operating model, including opportunities to simplify intake, standardize engagement models, reduce manual work, improve stakeholder experience and focus procurement effort on the highest-value work
- Challenge the status quo by identifying where legacy sourcing practices, supplier structures, approval paths, commercial models or ways of working create unnecessary friction, cost or risk, and lead practical changes to make the model more agile, scalable and outcome-oriented
- Partner with Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal and business leaders to shape demand early,
influence make-versus-buy decisions, strengthen requirements, and ensure Technology Services engagements are structured for measurable business impact
- Serve as the category lead for Technology Services, including Application Development & Maintenance, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Data Center services, IT implementation, Application Support and Desktop Support
- Provide strategic sourcing and commercial guidance to Procurement Managers and Operations teams on complex services engagements, including SOW design, negotiation strategy, pricing models, delivery governance and contract execution
- Lead strategic sourcing projects, supplier selection, negotiations and contract management while introducing fit-for-purpose commercial models such as Time & Material, fixed price, managed services, outcome-based and milestone-based engagements
- Transform supplier management from transactional vendor oversight to a structured performance and innovation discipline, including governance forums, KPI tracking, delivery accountability, continuous improvement and supplier-led innovation opportunities
- Identify savings, cost avoidance, productivity, cycle-time and risk-reduction opportunities, and lead execution through business cases, stakeholder alignment and measurable implementation plans.
Education
- University degree preferably in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
- 7+ years Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Category Management, business transformation, consulting, or similar roles requiring structured problem solving, stakeholder influence and fact-based negotiation
- Knowledge of procurement systems, Oracle processes, analytics tools and Microsoft Office applications
- AI awareness and ability to leverage AI-enabled procurement tools
- Strong project and change management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage dependencies,
communicate progress and drive adoption of new ways of working
