Librarian / Literacy Head – Presidium Indirapuram

Position: Librarian / Literacy Head
Location: Presidium School, Indirapuram

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Librarian / Literacy Head who can manage the school library while developing a strong reading and literacy culture among students across all grades.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including books, resources, records, circulation, and library systems.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate reading and literacy programmes for students.
- Encourage students to develop regular reading habits through engaging activities and initiatives.
- Curate books and learning resources based on students’ age, interests, curriculum, and learning requirements.
- Conduct storytelling, book discussions, reading challenges, author interactions, book clubs, and other literacy activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources and reading activities with classroom learning.
- Plan and execute Reading Weeks, Book Fairs, Literacy Events,



and Library Celebrations.
- Identify students who require additional support in reading and coordinate with teachers for appropriate interventions.
- Maintain an updated and well-organized library collection, including fiction, non-fiction, reference books, magazines, and digital resources.
- Introduce cutting-edge ways to promote reading, vocabulary development, comprehension, communication, and creative expression.
- Monitor library usage and maintain records of book issues, returns, new acquisitions, and damaged/lost books.
- Recommend new books and educational resources for the library.
- Create a welcoming, child-friendly, and intellectually stimulating library environment.
- Prepare periodic reports on library usage, reading programmes, and student participation.
- Stay updated with current trends in children’s literature, literacy education, and reading pedagogy.

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
