Role & responsibilities
Hiring an experienced engineer in manufacturing for handling complete manufacturing operations of heavy & precision machined components.
Requirements: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering/ Diploma in precision manufacturing.
4–15+ years’ experience in machining industry
Key Responsibilities
- Study engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements for hydrodynamic bearings.
- Plan and execute manufacturing processes for bearing components.
- Handle machining operations such as turning, boring, milling, drilling, grinding, and finishing, as applicable.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality.
- Ensure proper fitment, clearances, surface finish, and concentricity as per drawing requirements.
- Monitor machining parameters and optimize processes to improve productivity and quality.
- Inspect components using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, dial gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for inspection and testing of finished bearings.
- Identify manufacturing defects and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper material identification and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Coordinate with design, purchase, stores, and quality teams for smooth production activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection, rework, and manufacturing costs.
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of hydrodynamic bearing construction and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of machining and fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.;
- Knowledge of tolerances, fits, surface finish, and dimensional inspection.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of CNC/VMC machining and conventional machining will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of materials commonly used for bearing manufacturing and bearing lining/coating processes will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of ERP/MIS and production documentation.
Key Skills
- Hydrodynamic bearing design fundamentals.
- Journal and thrust bearing manufacturing.
- White metal (Babbitt) casting and centrifugal lining.
- Bearing clearance calculations.
- CNC machining processes.
- GD&T; and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Precision inspection techniques.
Preferred candidate profile
Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC & conventional machining
Experience in production planning, shop floor management, quality & delivery coordination
Exposure to heavy engineering or turbomachinery components preferred.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹54,746.48 per month
