We are setting up a commercial goat farm near Lucknow and are looking for an experienced and responsible Goat Farm Supervisor to independently manage day-to-day farm operations.

The farm will focus primarily on Barbari breeding, with Boer crossbreeding for meat production and seasonal goat fattening for the Bakrid market.

Key Responsibilities

- Daily care and management of goats
- Managing Barbari breeding females and breeding bucks
- Heat detection, mating and breeding records
- Pregnancy, kidding and newborn-kid management
- Feeding, fodder and mineral management
- Vaccination and deworming schedules
- Early identification of illness and coordination with the veterinarian
- Maintaining animal health, breeding, mortality and treatment records
- Identifying weak/non-performing animals for culling
- Managing farm workers and daily work allocation
- Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and biosecurity
- Monitoring weight and growth of kids
- Managing male goats being prepared for the Bakrid market
- Maintaining accurate records of goat purchases, sales and expenses
- Reporting farm performance and important issues to the owner

Candidate Profile





We are looking for someone who has practical hands-on experience in goat farming.

Preferred:

- 2–5 years of experience in commercial goat farming
- Experience with Barbari or other Indian breeds
- Knowledge of breeding and kidding management
- Experience handling breeding bucks
- Knowledge of vaccination, deworming and basic disease identification
- Experience with goat feeding and weight/growth monitoring
- Ability to maintain basic farm records
- Ability to manage farm workers
- Willingness to stay at the farm
- Honest, responsible and comfortable working independently

Candidates with only theoretical knowledge or general dairy/cattle-farm experience may not be suitable.

Significant

The selected candidate will be expected to take ownership of day-to-day farm operations, not simply perform routine feeding and cleaning work.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate their practical knowledge during the interview through real-life goat-farming situations.
