Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in engineering/manufacturing procurement. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, engineering components, consumables and services, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely availability of materials, maintaining optimum inventory levels, and developing reliable vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of sheet metal, HVAC, cleanroom products, engineering materials, fabrication components and industrial procurement.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Purchase

- Handle end-to-end procurement activities based on approved Purchase Requisitions, BOMs and production requirements.
- Source GI/PPGI/SS/MS sheets, aluminium, insulation, filters, electrical components, hardware, fasteners, motors, fans, dampers and other engineering materials.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers and prepare comparative statements.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, freight and other commercial conditions.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders after obtaining necessary approvals.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery as per production schedules.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Design, Projects, Finance and Quality teams for material requirements.

Vendor Development & Management

- Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors for raw materials, components and services.
- Maintain and regularly evaluate the approved vendor list.
- Conduct vendor performance evaluation based on quality, price, delivery, service and commercial terms.
- Develop alternate sources for critical and high-value materials to minimize supply-chain risk.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with key suppliers.

Cost Control

- Analyse material prices and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate annual/periodic rate contracts wherever applicable.




- Develop cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
- Monitor price fluctuations in metals and other major raw materials.
- Support management in budgeting and procurement cost analysis.

Inventory & Material Planning

- Coordinate with Stores and Production for material planning and replenishment.
- Monitor minimum stock, reorder levels and critical inventory.
- Avoid excess inventory, shortages and production stoppages.
- Track pending Purchase Orders and ensure timely closure.
- Support planning for project-specific and production-specific material requirements.

Quality & Documentation

- Ensure procurement is carried out as per approved specifications, drawings, BOMs and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality/Technical teams regarding material approvals and supplier deviations.
- Ensure proper documentation such as quotations, comparative statements, POs, delivery challans, test certificates and invoices.
- Resolve quality, quantity, specification and delivery-related issues with suppliers.

ERP & MIS

- Maintain accurate purchase records in ERP / Zoho Books / Zoho Inventory or equivalent systems.
- Generate procurement reports covering:
- Open Purchase Orders
- Pending deliveries
- Purchase value
- Vendor performance
- Price comparison
- Material shortages
- Purchase savings
- Ensure timely updating of purchase and vendor information in the ERP system.

Technical Knowledge

The candidate should preferably have working knowledge of:

- HVAC and Cleanroom manufacturing materials
- Sheet metal and fabrication materials
- GI, PPGI, MS, SS 304/316 and Aluminium
- Insulation materials
- Air filters / HEPA filters
- Fans, motors and blowers
- Dampers, grilles and diffusers
- Electrical and control components
- Fasteners, hardware and consumables
- Welding and fabrication consumables




- Engineering drawings and BOMs
- Material specifications and quality standards

Required Skills

Educational Qualification

BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Candidates with strong procurement experience in HVAC, sheet metal, cleanroom, engineering or manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate: A procurement professional who can independently manage the complete procurement cycle and support Airtech Innovations in achieving cost reduction, timely material availability and reliable supply-chain operations.

Salary: As per experience, qualification and suitability for the role.

Joining: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred
