Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Tool & Die Maker cum Turner to join our Production / Tool Room team in Vasai. The candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, modifying, and maintaining dies, jigs, fixtures, tools, and precision-machined components.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in turning, tool & die making, machining, and precision measurement and should be able to work independently as per engineering drawings and required tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

- Manufacture, repair, modify, and maintain dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
- Operate manual and CNC lathes for precision machining.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving, and tapering operations.
- Operate milling, grinding, and EDM machines as required.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T.;
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
- Conduct tool and die trials and troubleshoot tooling-related defects.
- Inspect components using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Carry out tool reconditioning and preventive maintenance.




- Ensure timely availability of tools and dies to support production.
- Maintain machine logbooks, tool history cards, inspection records, and maintenance records.
- Follow quality standards, safety procedures, SOPs, and workplace housekeeping requirements.
- Coordinate with the Production and Engineering teams to resolve tooling and machining issues.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Tool & Die Making and Turning Operations.
- Hands-on experience with manual/CNC lathe machines.
- Knowledge of milling, grinding, and EDM operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances/GD&T.;
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code is preferred.
- Good knowledge of cutting tools, machining processes, metallurgy, and heat treatment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
- Safety-conscious and disciplined approach to work.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Machinist, Turner, Fitter, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
