1. Position Purpose

The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the physical presentation, cleanliness and hygiene standards of Sanskreti, with primary responsibility for guestrooms, public areas, gardens and related housekeeping operations. The role directly impacts guest satisfaction, online reputation, room readiness and the property's ability to command its intended rates.

Performance Philosophy: “The Assistant Manager – Housekeeping is the custodian of Sanskreti's physical presentation and cleanliness.”

Success means every room is ready, every public area is clean, every garden is presentable and every guest leaves confident in the property's standards — while maintaining approved manpower and operating costs.

3. Guestroom Cleanliness & Room Readiness – 30%Responsibilities

- Ensure all occupied, vacant, VIP and special-occasion rooms meet Sanskreti standards.
- Conduct daily room inspections and coordinate room status with Front Office.
- Ensure bathrooms, linen, amenities, floors, odour, lighting and equipment meet standards.
- Report and follow up maintenance defects with Engineering.

- Maintain lobby, reception surroundings, corridors, restaurants, public washrooms, pool areas, pathways, parking and BOH areas.
- Complete cleaning schedules and conduct routine inspections.

- Maintain lawns, plants, pathways, outdoor furniture and guest-facing external areas.

- Coordinate with Front Office and Operations Manager.

10. Training, Grooming & Team Management – 5%Responsibilities

- Conduct daily briefings and regular training.
- Coach team on room cleaning, public areas, safety and guest interaction.
- Cross-train employees where appropriate.
- Maintain grooming, attendance and discipline.

11. Variable Pay – Quarterly Performance Incentive

Maximum variable pay is ₹5,000 per month, assessed monthly and paid quarterly, subject to the KPI score and eligibility gates.

The 95% mystery-audit gate is mandatory: below 95% audit performance caps the otherwise applicable variable pay at 50%; below 90% results in no variable pay for that month. Responsible unresolved cleanliness failures, material SOP breaches, unauthorised cost overruns or unexplained inventory losses may also reduce or eliminate variable pay after Management review.

12. First 90 Days

- First 30 days: complete room/public-area/garden/linen/inventory audit; establish inspection routines and productivity baseline.
- Days 31–60: implement corrective action plan, SOP training, structured audits and inventory controls.
- Days 61–90: achieve ≥95% mystery-audit performance, improve room readiness and productivity, and present a 12-month Housekeeping Quality & Productivity Plan.

13. Reporting & Accountability

The Assistant Manager reports to the Operations Manager and works closely with Front Office, Engineering, F&B;, Spa and other departments.

Core success chain: Clean Rooms → Ready Rooms → Clean Public Areas → Beautiful Gardens → Happy Guests → Better Reviews → Stronger Revenue → Better Profitability

14. Ideal Candidate

- Relevant hotel/resort Housekeeping experience.
- Strong knowledge of guestrooms, public areas, linen, chemicals, inventory and SOPs.
- Hands-on inspection and team leadership capability.
- Good guest-service orientation.
- Ability to manage productivity, manpower and costs.
- Strong training and coaching skills.
