Junior Accountant – Inventory & Accounts

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Junior Accountant with strong practical knowledge of inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, invoicing and GST compliance. The candidate should be comfortable working with both accounting software and manual accounting systems and should be capable of maintaining accurate records for a manufacturing and tea-processing unit.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries for the Kachholi manufacturing unit.
- Maintain inventory and stock accounting for raw materials, packing materials, finished goods and other consumables.
- Regularly reconcile physical stock with book/system stock and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare and issue GST invoices, commercial invoices, delivery challans and other required documents.
- Prepare and manage E-Way Bills for dispatches and movements of goods.
- Maintain purchase, sales, stock and expense records accurately.
- Reconcile purchase, sales and inventory ledgers.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase, Production, Dispatch and Accounts teams for stock and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain proper records of GRN, material receipts, stock transfers, dispatches and returns.
- Assist in GST reconciliation and monthly accounting closing.
- Prepare and maintain data required for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
- Handle basic bank, customer, supplier and ledger reconciliation.
- Maintain supporting documents and records required for audit and statutory compliance.
- Follow the company's accounting procedures and internal controls.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Must Have:





- Good practical knowledge of inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Strong knowledge of GST invoicing and E-Way Bills.
- Practical knowledge of GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
- Positive knowledge of manual accounting systems.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software / ERP systems.
- Good command of Excel / MS Office.
- Ability to identify and resolve differences between physical stock, inventory records and accounts.
- Accuracy, discipline and attention to detail are essential.

Additional Advantage:

- Knowledge of Tripta Consultancy accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, tea, FMCG or packaging industry will be preferred.
- Experience handling large SKU inventories and packing-material inventories will be an advantage.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be:

- Practical and hands-on rather than purely theoretical.
- Comfortable working at a factory/manufacturing location.
- Systematic in maintaining accounting and inventory records.
- Able to independently handle routine accounting and dispatch documentation.
- Honest, responsible and very careful with figures and stock records.
- Willing to coordinate closely with Stores, Production and Dispatch departments.
