Job Description – Electrician (Textile Industry)

Job Title: Electrician
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Location: Textile Manufacturing Unit
Reporting To: Maintenance Manager / Electrical Incharge

Qualifications

- ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Electrical License (Wireman/Supervisor License) preferred.
- Additional certifications in industrial electrical maintenance will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 3 to 8 years of experience in textile manufacturing industries.
- Experience in spinning, weaving, processing, garment, or dyeing units preferred.
- Familiarity with VFDs, PLCs, sensors, motors, and industrial automation systems.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance

- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of textile machinery and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing, and utility equipment.
- Maintain motors, drives, control panels, transformers, switchgears, and electrical circuits.
- Carry out wiring, cable laying, panel maintenance, and electrical installations.

Machine Troubleshooting

- Attend machine breakdowns promptly and restore equipment to operational condition.
- Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime.

Safety & Compliance





- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company regulations.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in electrical rooms and work areas.
- Ensure statutory compliance related to electrical installations and equipment.

Utilities Maintenance

- Maintain electrical systems related to compressors, boilers, pumps, HVAC systems, DG sets, and air handling units.
- Monitor power consumption and assist in energy-saving initiatives.

Documentation

- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance checklists.
- Update electrical drawings and equipment history records.
- Report critical issues and recurring breakdowns to management.

Skills Required

- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Understanding of PLC, VFD, HMI, and automation systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts.

- Machine uptime percentage.
- Breakdown response and resolution time.
- Preventive maintenance compliance.
- Energy consumption optimization.

- Reduction in repeat breakdowns.

Pay: ₹18,083.49 - ₹36,335.42 per month
