Job Title: QC Engineer

Work Location: Mumbai
Factory Visit: Willingness to visit UBR Factory on a weekly basis or as and when required
Job Summary
We are looking for a technically sound and detail-oriented QC Engineer to support quality inspection, testing, documentation, and compliance activities. The candidate should have good knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts, quality control practices, and basic engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Testing
· Conduct routine in office and in-line inspections and product testing.
· Identify defects, deviations, and quality issues at an early stage.
· Ensure products meet defined quality standards and specifications.
· Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues.
2. Quality Documentation
· Prepare and maintain quality control documents.
· Prepare and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
· Assist in preparing Method Statements and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
· Maintain inspection reports, test records, checklists, and other quality documentation.
· Ensure proper filing and traceability of quality records.
3. Standards & Compliance
· Ensure daily operations comply with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality requirements.
· Have a basic understanding of relevant standards and codes such as ASTM, ASME, and IS Codes.
· Verify materials, components, and finished products against specified requirements.
4. Inspections & Audits
· Conduct regular quality inspections and internal quality audits.
· Monitor production processes for compliance with quality requirements.
· Report deviations and follow up on corrective actions.
· Support implementation of preventive and corrective actions.
5. Reporting
· Prepare daily and periodic quality reports.
· Record inspection findings and communicate quality issues to the concerned departments.
· Maintain accurate records of defects, rework, rejections, and corrective actions.
Technical Skills & Requirements
· Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / B.E. Mechanical Engineering.
· AutoCAD: Good hands-on knowledge is preferred. Candidates with an AutoCAD certification will be given preference.
· Good working knowledge of:
o MS Excel
o MS Word
o MS PowerPoint
o Internet and email
· Basic understanding of engineering drawings and mechanical components.
· Basic knowledge of ASTM, ASME, and IS Codes.
· Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Good documentation and reporting skills.
· Ability to work with production and quality teams.
Experience
· 1–2 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance / Mechanical Inspection is preferred.
· Freshers can also apply. Selection will be based on technical knowledge, practical skills, and overall suitability for the position.
Additional Requirement
· Candidate must be willing to visit the UBR Factory on a weekly basis or whenever required for inspection, quality checks, audits, and related activities.
· Candidates with strong technical skills and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Selection Preference
Preference will be given to candidates with:
· Good practical knowledge of AutoCAD
· AutoCAD certification
· Knowledge of mechanical inspection and quality control
· Understanding of engineering drawings and standard codes
· Good MS Office skills
· Strong documentation and reporting ability
