Job Purpose:

The Labour Ward Nurse provides direct and high-quality nursing care to women in labour, ensuring their safety and comfort during childbirth. The nurse works collaboratively with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to both the mother and baby.

Key Responsibilities:

- Patient Care and Support:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for women in labour.
- Monitor the progress of labour, fetal well-being, and maternal health.
- Administer medications, fluids, and pain relief interventions, including epidurals, as prescribed.
- Assist in delivery of babies, ensuring both maternal and neonatal safety.
- Provide post-delivery care, including monitoring vital signs, assessing for complications, and supporting immediate recovery.
- Offer emotional and psychological support to patients and families during labour and birth.
- Ensure women are informed and involved in decisions regarding their care.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with obstetricians, anaesthetists, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective care.




- Document patient care accurately, maintaining up-to-date medical records.
- Participate in handover at shift changes, ensuring continuity of care.
- Emergency Response and Care:
- Respond quickly and effectively to obstetric emergencies (e.g., fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage).
- Provide initial neonatal resuscitation if required, until the arrival of neonatal specialists.
- Quality and Safety:
- Adhere to infection control procedures and hospital policies.
- Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and best practices in labour and delivery.
- Report any adverse events, incidents, or patient safety concerns in a timely manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
