Phantom Hands, established in Bangalore in 2014 is a design and craft driven contemporary furniture manufacturer based in Bangalore. We collaborate with acclaimed international furniture and textile designers to create contemporary designs that celebrate the craft traditions of India. With distribution in over 30 countries, we are one of the few global design brands from India.

Our manufacturing facilities and offices are based in Abbigere Industrial area in Bangalore. We are a team of over 120 people, including 70 skilled artisans and a work culture that places a high priority on ethics, integrity and excellence.

Job Description

We are looking for a Fabrication Design Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience in Fusion 360 (or an equivalent 3D modelling software) and AutoCAD, to join our design team for translating design concepts and details into CAD and fabrication drawings as well as create and manage product design related documentation. A background in engineering or industrial design is ideal for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Generate 3D and 2D drawings of furniture, including component drawings for templates to be used during production.
- Thoroughly understanding the production process for each model manufactured by the company and documenting the production process with drawings, images and descriptions.
- Making design drawings during prototyping of new models and maintaining version control.
- Maintaining spreadsheet of BOM and parts updation.
- Making drawings for packaging design of each furniture model as per prescribed process.
- Design and drawings of metal components, jigs & fixtures, and other structural components.
- Implementing production templates




- Complete ownership of the master dimensions and drawings of all furniture models/production processes and templates.

Profile:

- B.E in Mechanical/ Civil Engineering with a minimum three years experience in design and 3D modeling.
- Expertise in Fusion 360 and Autocad or equivalent; with the commitment to migrate to Fusion 360 within 8 weeks.
- Excellent sense of geometry, precision and ability to work in detail with a high level of self-organization.
- Knowledge of softwares like Adobe suite, Sketchup, Solid works and Pro-E will be a plus point.
- Exposure to production processes in wood, metal, packaging and ability to find quick solutions during prototyping.
- Self-starter, open to feedback, multitasker and good team player.
- High integrity and ethics.
- Good written and spoken English.

Work Location

The work location will be the Phantom Hands workshop in Abbigere industrial area, Jalahalli, Bangalore.
