Job Purpose

The Bending Operator is responsible for operating CNC/manual press brake and bending machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal components according to approved engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC or manual bending/press brake machines.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, technical specifications, and bending instructions.
- Select appropriate tools, dies, punches, and bending parameters.
- Perform sheet metal bending operations as per approved production drawings.
- Ensure correct bending angle, dimensions, radius, and component shape.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, angle gauges, and other quality tools.
- Identify defects such as incorrect angles, cracks, scratches, dents, or dimensional variations.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to achieve the required quality.
- Ensure components are produced within the specified production targets and timelines.
- Maintain proper handling of raw materials and finished components to avoid damage.
- Report machine breakdowns, tooling issues, and quality problems immediately to the supervisor.
- Perform basic machine cleaning and daily preventive maintenance activities.
- Follow production SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Maintain production records, rejection records, and machine-related documentation as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and use mandatory PPE.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve productivity and reduce rejection/wastage.




- Coordinate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and other departments for smooth operations.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of sheet metal bending operations.
- Experience in operating CNC Press Brake/Bending Machines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensions.
- Knowledge of bending angles, tooling, dies, punches, and machine settings.
- Basic understanding of measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of sheet metal materials such as MS, SS, GI, Aluminium, etc.
- Good attention to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machine and production issues.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and PPE requirements.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma / Relevant Technical Qualification

Candidates with relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.

Experience

1–5 years of experience in sheet metal bending, press brake operation, or a similar manufacturing workplace.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
- Experience in CNC Press Brake machines such as Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar machines is preferred.
- Ability to work in shifts.
- Physically capable of handling sheet metal components safely.
- Team player with a disciplined and safety-oriented approach.

Salary

As per company standards and candidate experience.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
