About the Role
Fuselage Flying Club, a professional drone training and RPAS education organization under Fuselage Innovations, is looking for a qualified and experienced UAV Instructor to join our training team in Kerala. The role involves delivering DGCA-compliant drone pilot training, conducting practical flight sessions, guiding trainees through theoretical and operational aspects of RPAS, and ensuring safe and professional training standards. The ideal candidate should hold a valid DGCA-approved Small Category UAV Instructor qualification, have 6 months to 1 year of relevant instructional experience, and be fluent in both English and Malayalam.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions for aspiring Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) candidates in accordance with applicable DGCA requirements and RPTO procedures.
- Deliver classroom sessions covering RPAS fundamentals, drone systems, flight operations, airspace awareness, aviation safety, meteorology, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct practical flight training and supervise trainees during drone operations to ensure secure and effective flight practices.
- Assess trainee performance during practical sessions and provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and corrective instruction.
- Ensure all training activities are conducted in accordance with approved training procedures, safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Demonstrate proper drone handling, pre-flight and post-flight procedures, emergency procedures, and safe operational practices.
- Maintain accurate training records, trainee attendance, flight logs, assessment records, and other required documentation.
- Support trainee evaluations, practical assessments,
and competency development as required under the applicable training program.
- Conduct training briefings and debriefings and address trainee queries related to drone operations, safety, and flight procedures.
- Coordinate with the RPTO management and training team to ensure smooth scheduling and execution of training programs.
- Ensure proper inspection, handling, and operational readiness of training drones and associated equipment.
- Contribute to maintaining a professional, disciplined, and safety-focused training environment at Fuselage Flying Club.
Requirements
- Valid DGCA-approved Small Category UAV Instructor qualification/license as applicable for the role.
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience as a UAV/Drone Instructor.
- Previous experience working as an instructor with a DGCA-authorized or recognized RPTO is preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of drone flight operations, safety procedures, and RPAS training practices.
- Fluent communication skills in both English and Malayalam.
- Good classroom presentation, trainee-handling, and instructional skills.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety, drone regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to conduct both theoretical and practical training sessions effectively.
- Willingness to work on-site and participate in training programs and practical flight operations as required.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience as a UAV Instructor, Remote Pilot Instructor, or RPAS Trainer with an RPTO is highly preferred.
- Experience handling and training pilots on Small Category UAVs.
- Practical experience in conducting supervised drone flight training and trainee assessments.
- Good understanding of DGCA requirements and applicable RPAS training standards.
- Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional approach towards trainee safety, discipline, documentation, and training quality.
- Candidates based in Kerala with familiarity with the local training environment will be preferred.
