Job Summary
Own hardware-accelerated video pipelines on ARM-based SoC platforms — encode, decode, transcode and streaming paths built on GStreamer and vendor codec interfaces, for multi-stream edge and enterprise devices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build and optimize GStreamer pipelines for hardware-accelerated encode, decode, transcode and composition.
Integrate and maintain codec plugins and V4L2 stateful/stateless codec interfaces for H.264, H.265, VP9 and AV1 as supported by the platform.
Enable multi-stream, multi-resolution concurrency with defined latency, bitrate and throughput targets.
Implement zero-copy buffer flows between camera, video, GPU, display and inference stages.
Build and tune low-latency streaming paths (RTSP/RTP/WebRTC class) and container/muxing handling.
Profile and resolve pipeline stalls, dropped frames, A/V sync drift, latency spikes and memory bandwidth bottlenecks.
Develop custom GStreamer elements and plugins where platform capability is not covered upstream.
Define video KPI measurement methodology and contribute to automated video regression suites
Skill Requirements
8–10 years in embedded multimedia / video software engineering.
Expert-level GStreamer — pipeline design, element and plugin development, negotiation, caps, queues, debugging with GST_DEBUG and pipeline graphs.
Solid C/C++ on embedded Linux.
Hardware codec integration experience via V4L2 codec APIs or vendor codec SDKs.
Solid grasp of video compression fundamentals — GOP structures, rate control, profiles/levels, bitstream basics for H.264/H.265.
Zero-copy buffer management (dma-buf / DMA heaps) and memory bandwidth awareness.
Performance profiling and latency measurement on constrained SoC platforms
Other Requirements
AV1 or VP9 hardware pipeline enablement.
WebRTC, RTSP server/client or adaptive streaming implementation.
Android MediaCodec / Stagefright / OMX stack experience.
Display pipeline, DRM/KMS and composition experience.
Upstream GStreamer contributions.
