Production Deputy Manager – Foundry

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Deputy Manager to direct daily foundry manufacturing operations, optimize shift output, and achieve production targets. The Production DM will lead section supervisors across core foundry processes—including Melting, Moulding, Core Shop, Fettling, and Quality Control—while focusing on defect reduction, scrap minimization, equipment efficiency, and shop-floor safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive daily, weekly, and monthly Production Planning and Control (PPC) schedules across all foundry divisions to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate and manage section supervisors across Melting (induction/cupola), Moulding (green sand/resin), Core Shop, and Fettling lines.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), minimize machine downtime, and optimize liquid metal yield.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to analyze casting defects (blowholes, sand inclusions, shrinkage), executing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing Corrective Actions (CAPA).
- Oversee shift allocations, manpower scheduling, operator training, and shop-floor skill development.




- Enforce industrial safety standards, conduct safety audits, and maintain mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance.
- Monitor raw material, energy, and consumable usage while driving 5S, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing practices.
- Maintain daily production logs, scrap analysis, energy consumption data, and performance reports for senior management.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands-on foundry experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Cast Iron (CI) and Spheroidal Graphite (SG) iron melting, core making, moulding systems, and casting metallurgy.
- Software: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Tally) and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Core Competencies: Leadership, root cause analysis, shop-floor line balancing, and decision-making in high-temperature manufacturing environments.
