Mechanical Welder – Job Description

Position: Mechanical Welder

Department: Mechanical / Maintenance

Reporting To: Mechanical Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Welder responsible for welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of mechanical structures, machinery components, pipelines, and equipment as per required specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform welding and fabrication work on mechanical equipment and structures.

- Carry out ARC, MIG, TIG, or gas welding as required.

- Read and understand basic fabrication drawings and measurements.

- Assist in repairing and modifying machinery and mechanical components.

- Perform cutting, grinding, fitting, and finishing work.

- Inspect welded joints for quality, strength, and proper alignment.

- Maintain welding machines, tools, electrodes, and other equipment.

- Follow proper welding procedures and workplace safety standards.

- Use PPE such as welding helmet, gloves, safety shoes, and protective clothing.

- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area.

- Coordinate with fitters, mechanics,



and supervisors during maintenance and fabrication activities.

- Report any defects, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

Qualification & Experience

- Qualification: 8th/10th/12th Pass; ITI Welder/Fitter preferred.

- Experience: 1–3 years of relevant welding/fabrication experience.

- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, steel, or plant maintenance will be preferred.

- Freshers with relevant ITI certification may also be considered.

Required Skills

- Positive knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.

- Ability to operate welding machines and basic workshop tools.

- Knowledge of metal cutting, grinding, and fitting.

- Good understanding of workplace safety.

- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.

- Physically fit and comfortable working in an industrial environment.

Preferred Candidate

Hardworking, disciplined, safety-conscious, and technically skilled candidates with experience in industrial welding, mechanical maintenance, and fabrication work.

Pay: Up to ₹18,000.00 per month
