Job Description – Packing Supervisor

Position: Packing Supervisor
Department: Production / Packing
Location: Palghar, Maharashtra
Experience: 2–5 years in Packing / Production, preferably in Cosmetic, Pharma, FMCG, or Chemical Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Packing Supervisor to supervise day-to-day packing operations, manpower, production targets, quality requirements, and documentation. The candidate should have good knowledge of packing processes, GMP practices, and shop-floor management.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily packing activities as per production plan and schedule.
- Allocate work to packing operators and contract workers.
- Ensure achievement of daily packing targets within the specified time.
- Monitor packing line activities and ensure smooth production flow.
- Ensure correct packing materials are issued and used as per approved specifications.
- Verify batch details, labels, coding, quantity, and packing materials before and during packing.
- Ensure proper line clearance before starting a new batch/product.
- Maintain packing-related documents, logbooks, checklists, and production records.
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Stores, and Maintenance departments.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, hygiene, and company SOPs.
- Monitor manpower attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
- Train workers regarding packing procedures, safety, hygiene, and GMP requirements.
- Identify and report packing defects, material shortages, machine breakdowns,



and production issues.
- Minimize packing material wastage and ensure proper material reconciliation.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the packing area.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper records and workplace standards.
- Prepare daily production/packing reports and submit them to the concerned department.

Required Skills

- Valuable knowledge of packing operations and shop-floor activities.
- Knowledge of GMP and basic quality requirements.
- Good manpower handling and supervisory skills.
- Ability to maintain production and packing documentation.
- Basic knowledge of computers and MS Excel.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and under production targets.

Qualification

Diploma / Graduate in a relevant discipline.
Experience in Cosmetic / Pharma / FMCG / Chemical manufacturing will be preferred.

- Packing quality and reduction of packing defects.
- Manpower productivity and utilization.
- Reduction of material wastage.
- Accuracy of documentation and batch records.
- Compliance with GMP, SOP, safety, and hygiene requirements.
- Timely completion of packing activities.

Reporting To

Production Manager / Plant Head

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
