Highway Design Consultancy Company
An HR Recruiter is responsible for hiring qualified engineering, technical, and support professionals for highway and infrastructure design projects.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with project managers and department heads to understand staffing needs, project requirements, budgets, and hiring timelines.
- Prepare job descriptions and competency requirements for positions such as:
- Highway and geometric design engineers
- Transportation planners
- Bridge and structural engineers
- Pavement and geotechnical engineers
- Drainage and hydrology engineers
- Traffic engineers
- CAD technicians and BIM modelers
- Quantity surveyors and estimators
- Survey, GIS, and environmental specialists
- Project managers, team leaders, and site-support staff
- Source candidates through job portals, LinkedIn, professional networks, engineering colleges, employee referrals, industry associations, and recruitment agencies.
- Identify candidates with relevant highway-project experience and familiarity with applicable design standards and software.
- Screen applications based on qualifications, years of experience, project exposure, technical skills, location, availability, and salary expectations.
- Conduct preliminary HR interviews to assess communication, motivation, career stability, notice period, mobility, and organizational fit.
- Arrange technical interviews, design tests, software assessments, and management discussions.
- Verify candidates’ project portfolios, employment history, educational qualifications, professional registrations, and references.
- Maintain a talent pipeline for current projects, upcoming bids, and urgent replacements.
- Prepare candidate profiles and CV matrices for tender submissions and client approvals.
- Ensure proposed key personnel meet tender criteria, including minimum qualifications and relevant project experience.
- Coordinate salary negotiations, approvals, offer letters, joining dates, and counter-offer situations.
- Manage pre-employment documentation, background verification, medical requirements, and onboarding coordination.
- Track recruitment metrics such as time to hire, cost per hire, offer acceptance, joining ratio, source effectiveness, and early attrition.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and comply with employment law, equal-opportunity principles, confidentiality requirements, and company policies.
- Build relationships with candidates and provide timely updates throughout the recruitment process.
- Support employer-branding initiatives to position the company as an attractive workplace for infrastructure professionals.
- Coordinate workforce planning for project mobilization, demobilization, transfers, and future staffing requirements.
Expected competencies
- Understanding of highway consultancy disciplines and engineering job profiles
- Robust sourcing, interviewing,
negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to interpret tender staffing criteria and technical CVs
- Familiarity with recruitment systems, job portals, spreadsheets, and applicant-tracking tools
- Good communication, documentation, confidentiality, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple vacancies and work within strict project deadlines

- Vacancies filled within agreed timelines
- Quality and retention of recruited employees
- Percentage of offers accepted and candidates joining
- Compliance of proposed personnel with tender requirements
- Accuracy of recruitment records and reports
- Hiring-manager and candidate satisfaction
Educational qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, or a related field
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Human Resources is preferred
- Professional HR or recruitment certification is an advantage
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of recruitment experience, including at least 2–3 years in a senior recruitment role
- Experience in an engineering consultancy, highway design, infrastructure, construction, or EPC company is strongly preferred
- Proven experience recruiting engineering, technical, project-management, and corporate-support professionals
- Experience handling senior-level, niche, and urgent vacancies
- Exposure to tender-based recruitment and preparation of key-personnel CVs is desirable
Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
