Job Summary
We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) with strong knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, dimensional inspection, and measuring instruments. The candidate will be responsible for supplier quality performance, incoming quality, process audits, dimensional inspection, supplier development, and resolution of quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor supplier quality performance and ensure components meet drawing, specification, and customer requirements.
- Review and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and revision changes.
- Strong understanding of GD&T; symbols, datum systems, feature control frames, and dimensional tolerances.
- Interpret and verify position, flatness, straightness, perpendicularity, parallelism, circularity, cylindricity, profile, concentricity, symmetry, and runout requirements.
- Understand MMC, LMC, RFS, bonus tolerance, datum reference frames, and virtual condition.
- Perform or coordinate incoming inspection, first-piece inspection, FAI, PPAP, and dimensional inspection of supplier components.
- Use and interpret results from Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial gauges, thread gauges, plug/ring gauges, surface roughness testers, profile projectors, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Coordinate with CMM teams for detailed dimensional and GD&T; verification.
- Prepare and review dimensional inspection reports against engineering drawings.
- Conduct supplier process audits, product audits, and quality system audits as required.
- Identify supplier non-conformities and issue NCR/SCAR for major quality issues.
- Lead supplier 8D, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and preventive action activities.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively and within agreed timelines.
- Analyze supplier rejection, PPM, process capability, and recurring quality issues.
- Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and capability studies.
- Review supplier process controls and ensure critical dimensions and CTQs are properly controlled.
- Participate in supplier development activities to improve process capability and reduce defects.
- Support current product development and supplier qualification activities.
- Verify calibration and suitability of measuring instruments used for inspection.
- Work closely with Purchase, Production, Engineering, R&D;, and Incoming Quality teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
- Maintain supplier quality records, audit reports, inspection reports, NCRs, 8D reports, and performance data.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of experience in Supplier Quality / Vendor Quality / Incoming Quality.
- Experience with CNC machining, turning, milling, grinding, sheet metal, fabrication, or precision components preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with dimensional measuring instruments.
- Experience in supplier problem-solving and corrective-action follow-up.
- Good communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
