Job Description – Maintenance Technician (Hospital)
Position: Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and smooth functioning of all hospital infrastructure, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, medical utility systems, and general equipment. The role ensures a protected, clean, and uninterrupted environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital buildings and equipment.
- Repair electrical faults, lighting systems, switches, sockets, wiring, and distribution panels.
- Maintain plumbing systems including water supply lines, drainage, washrooms, taps, and pipelines.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
- Ensure uninterrupted functioning of DG sets, UPS, water pumps, and electrical backup systems.
- Attend emergency maintenance breakdowns promptly.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and annual maintenance contracts (AMC).
- Conduct daily inspections of hospital premises and report any safety hazards.
- Ensure proper functioning of lifts, fire safety systems, and utility services (where applicable).
- Follow hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines during maintenance work.
- Assist in installation and shifting of hospital furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and fire safety regulations.
- Support all departments with maintenance-related requirements on a priority basis.
Experience
- 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a hospital, healthcare facility.
- Experience in handling electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general civil maintenance is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Knowledge of electrical panels, generators, UPS, pumps, and HVAC systems.
- Basic understanding of civil and carpentry maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to respond quickly during emergency breakdowns.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and preventive maintenance practices.
Working Hours
- Availability for emergency calls, weekends, and public holidays when required.
This role is critical to ensuring that the hospital's infrastructure and essential services remain safe, functional, and operational 24×7.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
