Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Structural Design Head to lead the structural design and engineering function for heavy automotive products and assemblies. The role will be responsible for driving product design, structural integrity, engineering development, design optimization, and cross-functional coordination from concept through production.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in automotive structural design, chassis/frame-related systems, sheet metal/fabricated structures, CAD/CAE, DFM/DFA, and new product development, preferably within heavy commercial vehicles, automotive components, or heavy engineering manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the structural design and engineering team for automotive products and assemblies.
- Develop and review structural concepts for chassis, frames, brackets, fabricated structures, body structures, and related automotive components.
- Own design development from concept, feasibility, detailed engineering, prototyping, validation, and production release.
- Review engineering drawings, 3D models, GD&T;, specifications, and design calculations.
- Ensure designs meet applicable performance, durability, safety, manufacturability, and cost requirements.
- Drive design optimization, weight reduction, material optimization, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, R&D;, testing,



and suppliers for product development and industrialization.
- Lead design reviews, technical discussions, root-cause analysis, and engineering change management.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, customer requirements, and applicable automotive standards.
- Guide the team on CAD modelling, drawing standards, tolerance stack-up, and design methodologies.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and resolution of field or production-related design issues.
- Develop and maintain engineering processes, design standards, and best practices.
- Mentor and develop design engineers and technical team members.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering; Master's degree is an advantage.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in automotive structural/product design.
- Strong knowledge of automotive structures, fabricated assemblies, sheet metal, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in relevant CAD tools such as CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of GD&T;, tolerance analysis, material selection, design validation, and engineering drawings.
- Exposure to CAE/FEA and structural analysis is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA and value engineering.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, project-management, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience in heavy commercial vehicles, automotive chassis, heavy fabrication, or similar environments will be preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
