Job Purpose

The PGT English will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language and literature instruction to senior secondary students, developing strong communication and analytical skills, preparing students for board examinations, and contributing to the overall academic and co-curricular development of students.

Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning

- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school curriculum and academic objectives.
- Teach English Language and Literature to senior secondary classes.
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Use innovative, student-centred teaching methodologies and appropriate digital resources.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
- Conduct remedial and enrichment activities wherever required.

2. Academic Planning & Assessment

- Prepare annual, term-wise, monthly, and lesson plans.
- Set question papers, worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessments.
- Conduct regular assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
- Analyse student performance and implement appropriate interventions.
- Prepare students effectively for board examinations and competitive assessments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.

3. Classroom Management

- Maintain a positive, inclusive, disciplined, and respectful classroom setting.
- Establish clear expectations for student behaviour and academic performance.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress.
- Follow the school's child safeguarding, discipline, and No Touch Policy at all times.

4. Student Development





- Mentor and guide students in their academic and personal development.
- Encourage participation in debates, elocution, creative writing, literary activities, quizzes, and other competitions.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or pastoral support and communicate concerns to the appropriate authority.
- Promote confidence, effective communication, creativity, and independent learning.

5. Parent & Stakeholder Communication

- Maintain professional communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide meaningful feedback.
- Collaborate with the HOD, coordinators, counsellors, and other teachers to support student development.

6. Documentation & School Responsibilities

- Maintain lesson plans, assessment records, student portfolios, and other required documentation.
- Complete all academic and administrative work within stipulated timelines.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, workshops, examinations, school events, and assigned duties.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Principal or management.

Qualifications

- Postgraduate degree in English from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Candidates with relevant teaching certifications and additional qualifications will be preferred.

Experience





- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE/ICSE/IB or reputed school.
- Experience teaching senior secondary classes is preferred.
- Proven experience in preparing students for board examinations will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
