Key Responsibilities

- Obtain and document detailed personal, medical, and family histories to assess genetic risk.
- Identify patients and families who may benefit from genetic counselling and testing.
- Provide pre-test and post-test genetic counselling.
- Explain genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, testing procedures, benefits, limitations, and possible outcomes.
- Coordinate genetic testing, sample collection, and communication with diagnostic laboratories.
- Explain genetic test results to patients and families in a transparent and understandable manner.
- Coordinate with clinical geneticists, consultants, oncologists, obstetricians, paediatricians, and other specialists.
- Assist in risk assessment for hereditary cancers, reproductive genetics, prenatal conditions, paediatric disorders, and other inherited conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient records, pedigrees, counselling notes, consent forms, and genetic test reports.




- Ensure appropriate documentation and confidentiality of sensitive genetic information.
- Provide psychological and emotional support to patients and families during the counselling process.
- Assist clinicians in developing appropriate recommendations based on genetic risk and test results.
- Follow up with patients regarding genetic testing, results, referrals, and recommended clinical management.
- Participate in genetic awareness programs, patient education, and departmental activities.
- Maintain knowledge of current genetic testing technologies, guidelines, and ethical considerations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, applicable regulations, and quality standards.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
