Job Description – ETL Tester / SDET (Data & Cloud Testing)

Job Title: ETL Tester / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Experience: 5–8 Years

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced ETL Tester / SDET with strong expertise in test automation, ETL validation, cloud data testing, and modern application testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building automation frameworks, validating enterprise data platforms, testing Azure-based data pipelines, and ensuring end-to-end quality across applications, APIs, databases, and analytics solutions.

The candidate will work closely with Data Engineers, Developers, Architects, and Product teams to design, implement, and execute automated testing strategies for cloud data platforms, web applications, microservices, and enterprise healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and solutions for enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Build and enhance automation frameworks using:
- Playwright
- Selenium WebDriver
- Robot Framework
- BDD / TDD / ATDD methodologies
- Data-driven testing frameworks
- Develop automated test scripts using:
- JavaScript / TypeScript

- Python (Preferred)
- Perform end-to-end ETL testing for Azure-based data platforms.
- Validate data pipelines developed using:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure SQL Database
- Azure Data Lake
- Cloud data warehouse solutions
- Design and execute:
- Source-to-target validation
- Data reconciliation testing

- Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
- Troubleshoot post-production issues and determine defects related to:

- Participate in test strategy development, test planning, and automation roadmap discussions.
- Review existing automation frameworks and enhance them for scalability and maintainability.
- Support regression testing initiatives and improve test coverage.

- Mentor team members on automation best practices and testing methodologies.

Required QualificationsEducation

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

- 5–8 years of experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), ETL Testing, or Test Automation Engineering.
- Robust experience developing automation frameworks and test solutions.
- Experience testing enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and large-scale data systems.
- Healthcare domain experience preferred.
