Job Summary
Own the robotics software middleware layer on ARM-based edge compute platforms — ROS 2 system design, autonomous navigation stacks, and multi-sensor fusion for mobile robots and autonomous machines.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement ROS 2 based systems — node design, lifecycle nodes, executors, DDS configuration, QoS profiles and inter-process transport optimization.
Integrate and tune navigation stacks: mapping/SLAM, localization, global and local planning, costmaps, recovery behaviours and controller tuning.
Implement multi-sensor fusion across cameras, depth sensors, LiDAR, IMU, wheel odometry and GNSS, including calibration and time synchronization.
Optimize robotics workloads for embedded SoCs — CPU/GPU/NPU offload, zero-copy transport, deterministic timing and resource budgeting.
Integrate perception and AI inference outputs into the navigation and decision layer.
Build simulation, replay and bag-based test workflows to reproduce and debug field behaviour.
Define safety-relevant behaviours — emergency stop paths, watchdogs, fail-secure states and degraded operation.
Debug robot-level issues spanning middleware, drivers and hardware; mentor engineers on ROS 2 best practice.
Skill Requirements
8–10 years in robotics or autonomous systems software, with 4+ years on ROS/ROS 2 in productized systems.
Strong C++ (14/17) and Python.
Deep ROS 2 knowledge — DDS/RMW behaviour, QoS tuning, composition, TF2, launch and parameter systems.
Navigation stack experience — SLAM, AMCL or equivalent localization, path planning and control.
Sensor fusion and state estimation — Kalman/EKF/UKF or factor-graph approaches; extrinsic/intrinsic calibration.
Running ROS 2 on resource-constrained embedded Linux targets, not just workstations.
Real robot bring-up and field debugging experience.
Other Requirements
Nav2, MoveIt, Cartographer, RTAB-Map or similar stack customization.
Real-time ROS 2, micro-ROS or DDS tuning for determinism.
Gazebo, Isaac Sim or other simulation-based development and CI.
GPU/NPU accelerated perception integration.
Robotics safety standards exposure (ISO 3691-4, ISO 13849).
