PPC Manager – Production Planning & Control

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on and analytical PPC Manager with strong experience in furniture manufacturing to manage production planning, material availability, capacity utilization and shop-floor execution.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth coordination between Purchase, Stores, Production and Projects, while driving timely production and delivery with optimum utilization of manpower and resources.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Scheduling

- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
- Plan production as per project requirements, customer commitments and delivery schedules.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely execution.
- Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective action.

2. Material Planning & MRP

- Prepare material requirements based on BOM, production plans and project schedules.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of materials.
- Monitor stock levels, shortages and excess inventory.
- Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials and consumables.

3. BOM & Production Control

- Prepare and maintain accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Ensure production is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and BOM.
- Track material consumption against standard requirements.
- Identify and control material wastage and production variances.

4. Capacity & Manpower Planning

- Plan machine and manpower capacity according to production requirements.
- Monitor machine utilization and manpower productivity.
- Identify capacity constraints and recommend corrective measures.




- Coordinate deployment of manpower across production activities.

5. WIP & Shop-Floor Monitoring

- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) at every stage of manufacturing.
- Track job status from cutting through finishing, assembly and dispatch.
- Maintain production MIS and daily progress reports.
- Escalate delays, bottlenecks and quality-related production issues.

6. Costing & Estimation

- Assist in product and project costing.
- Prepare material and manufacturing cost estimates.
- Analyse actual consumption against estimated/standard consumption.
- Support management in controlling production costs.

7. Production Efficiency & Cost Control

- Monitor productivity, rejection, wastage and rework.
- Identify opportunities for improving production efficiency.
- Implement systems for reducing manufacturing costs and production losses.
- Track key production KPIs and prepare management reports.

8. Inter-Departmental Coordination

Coordinate closely with:

- Purchase
- Stores
- Production
- Projects
- Design
- Quality
- Dispatch

Ensure that all departments are aligned with production priorities and project delivery timelines.

9. Delivery & Project Execution

- Monitor order/project-wise production progress.
- Ensure production readiness as per dispatch and installation schedules.
- Highlight potential delays in advance.
- Coordinate with Projects and Dispatch teams for on-time delivery.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on PPC professional who has:

- Solid knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes.
- Experience in modular furniture, solid wood furniture or fit-out manufacturing.
- Good understanding of BOM, MRP, production planning and inventory control.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings and specifications.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work directly with shop-floor teams.
- Strong focus on execution, timelines and cost control.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production/MRP/ERP systems will be preferred.

Education

Graduate/Diploma in Production, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Operations or a related field.

Relevant practical experience in furniture manufacturing may be considered in lieu of a specific qualification.
