Quality Engineering Lead Omni Channel Experiences
About the Role:
We are seeking a Quality Engineering Lead Omni Channel to drive quality strategy and execution across our end-to-end customer journeys spanning digital, store, and fulfillment platforms.
In this role, you will ensure that customer experiencessuch as buy online pickup in store (BOPIS), ship-from-store, returns, order lifecycle, and cross-channel promotionswork seamlessly across systems, devices, and touchpoints.
This is not a traditional QA sign-off role. You will operate as a quality enabler and engineering leader, helping teams embed quality early, automate at scale, and continuously learn from production signals.
Youll partner across eCommerce, Store Systems, Fulfillment, and Enterprise Systems teams to ensure resilient, integrated, and production-ready omni-channel experiences.
What Youll Do:
End-to-End Quality Strategy (Omni Channel):
- Define and evolve test strategies for cross-channel workflows (cart order fulfillment store returns).
- Validate end-to-end journeys across multiple systems (frontend apps, POS, OMS, inventory, payments, APIs).
- Identify failure points across integrations, including latency, data sync issues, and partial system outages.
- Ensure production readiness under real-world conditions (peak traffic, device variability, network instability).
Automation-First & CI/CD Quality:
- Drive automation-first test strategy across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Embed automated validation into CI/CD pipelines with rapid feedback loops.
Build reusable frameworks for:
- Cross-channel workflow validation
- Data consistency checks (orders, inventory, payments)
- Integration and event-driven testing
- Enable continuous regression and release confidence at scale.
Data, Integration & System Reliability:
- Validate data flows across systems (OMS, POS, inventory, fulfillment, payments).
- Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, and consistency across touchpoints.
- Test event-driven and batch workflows, including downstream system impacts.
- Strengthen observability, monitoring, and debugging capabilities for omni journeys.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Stores, Fulfillment, and Business teams to embed quality early in design and refinement.
- Influence architecture and workflows to improve testability, resilience, and fault isolation.
- Act as a trusted advisor for release readiness, production risk, and incident learning.
- Collaborate across squads to ensure consistency in quality standards and practices.
Coaching & Quality Transformation:
- Coach teams to own quality vs depend on centralized QA.
- Promote shift-left testing mindset and early risk identification.
Drive adoption of:
- Automation-first practices
- Observability-led quality
- Dev-owned testing models
- Scale best practices across domains (eComm, Stores, Fulfillment, ES).
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify recurring defects, integration gaps, and workflow inefficiencies.
- Define and scale reusable tooling, frameworks, and best practices.
- Leverage production insights to improve test coverage and system resilience.
- Help evolve organizational quality maturity and QE transformation goals.
What You Bring:
Required Qualifications:
- 79+ years in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering, with 2+ years in a lead role.
Strong experience with:
- UI and API automation frameworks (Playwright, Jest, etc.)
- API testing (REST/GraphQL)
- CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration
- Experience working in distributed, cross-functional Agile teams.
- Strong understanding of system integrations, data flows, and end-to-end workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving, risk assessment, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Omni Channel / Retail systems:
- POS, Order Management (OMS), Inventory, Fulfillment
- Experience testing complex integrated systems and workflows
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, microservices, and distributed systems
- Experience with observability tools (logs, tracing, dashboards)
- Exposure to performance, scalability, and peak-event readiness
