Role Description The Sr Import-Export Documentation – Custom Broker role is a full time hybrid position based in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing end-to-end import and export documentation, including checklist preparation, verification, and submission of shipping and customs documents for air and sea consignments. Responsibilities include coordinating with clients, carriers, and customs authorities, ensuring compliance with Indian customs, DGFT, and other regulatory requirements, and tracking shipments to support timely clearance. The role also focuses on resolving documentation discrepancies, advising clients on regulatory changes and best practices, and maintaining accurate records and reports for audits and internal reviews. This position is expected to contribute to process improvement, support junior team members, and uphold high standards of customer service and operational reliability.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Customs Brokerage and deep knowledge of customs procedures, documentation, and regulatory compliance.




Candidates should possess solid Export and Import expertise, including familiarity with Incoterms, shipping documentation, and international logistics workflows.
Candidates should possess a sound understanding of International Trade, trade regulations, and documentation standards relevant to cross-border transactions.
Candidates should possess effective Customer Service skills, with the ability to manage client expectations, communicate clearly, and resolve issues promptly.
Relevant experience in customs broking, freight forwarding, or logistics operations, preferably in a senior or supervisory capacity.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficiency with MS Office and logistics/customs software platforms; comfort working with digital documentation and tracking tools.
