Auscomp is building an internal AI capability to improve how our teams work across sales, distribution, warehouse operations, ERP and business administration.
We are looking for a Senior AI Applications Engineer who can turn real business problems into secure, production-ready AI applications.
You will work alongside our React.js frontend developer and business stakeholders to design and build AI assistants, document-search systems, workflow automations and intelligent integrations. This is a hands-on engineering role with ownership from prototype through to production.
What you will do
Design and build backend services for internal AI applications.
Develop solutions using LLM APIs, structured outputs, function calling, agents and RAG.
Connect AI applications to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, ERP systems, databases and internal APIs.
Build document-ingestion and permission-aware enterprise search pipelines.
Implement automated evaluations for accuracy, retrieval quality, hallucinations and regressions.
Deploy and operate AI services securely on Microsoft Azure.




Implement authentication, RBAC, audit logging, secrets management and data-protection controls.
Create monitoring for application quality, model usage, latency, errors and cost.
Work directly with warehouse, operations, sales and management teams to understand and automate business processes.
Collaborate with frontend, backend, infrastructure and security team members.
Essential experience
Strong backend development experience with Python and FastAPI, or a comparable production backend framework.
Experience building applications using Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic or similar LLM platforms.
Practical experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search and document processing.
Robust understanding of REST APIs, SQL databases, asynchronous processing and system integration.
Experience deploying cloud applications using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
