Job Title: Operation Incharge - DRI Plant
Department: Operations - DRI (Sponge Iron Plant)
Reporting To: Department HOD
Experience: 10 - 12 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Chemical Engineering
Diploma with exceptional DRI operational experience may also be considered.
Industry: Steel / Sponge Iron (DRI) / Integrated Steel Plant

Job Purpose
To ensure protected, efficient and continuous operation of the DRI Plant by achieving targeted sponge iron production with optimum fuel and power consumption while maintaining quality standards, equipment reliability, environmental compliance and workplace safety.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Operate and supervise the complete DRI plant including Rotary Kiln, ABC Cooler, ESP, Raw Material Feeding System and associated auxiliaries.
- Achieve daily, monthly and annual sponge iron production targets.
- Monitor and control all critical process parameters including kiln temperature, pressure, draft, RPM and feed rate.
- Ensure optimum consumption of iron ore, coal, dolomite and other raw materials.
- Maintain desired metallization and product quality.
- Coordinate with RMHS, Mechanical and Electrical departments.




- Minimize production losses and process abnormalities.
- Analyze operational data and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure proper shift handover and operational log books.
- Supervise operators, shift engineers and contract manpower.
- Implement SOPs and Best Operating Practices.
- Maintain housekeeping and statutory compliance.
- Participate in shutdown planning and commissioning.
- Prepare production and MIS reports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
