About the Role

At HDFC Bank, Design is a strategic capability that shapes how millions of customers experience banking every day. We are looking for a Design Lead to drive customer-centric, AI-enabled digital experiences across Mobile Banking, Net Banking and other digital platforms. This role requires a leader who can define vision, execute with excellence, and mentor a high-performing design team.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end product design from discovery to launch for complex banking journeys.
- Lead 01 initiatives and transform ambiguous problems into intuitive experiences.
- Mentor and grow a team of 23+ designers through coaching and design reviews.
- Partner with Product, Business, Engineering, Data and Risk stakeholders.
- Champion design systems, accessibility, usability and design governance.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging workflows to improve quality, speed and innovation.
- Use customer insights and metrics to continuously improve experiences.

Must-Have Skills

- 5+ years in Product, UX/UI or Interaction Design.




- Demonstrated success delivering products/features from 01.
- Experience leading small design teams.
- Excellent communication, storytelling and stakeholder management.
- Strong portfolio showing strategic thinking and measurable outcomes.
- Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted design, LLMs or AI-enabled product experiences.
- Passion for BFSI and solving complex financial journeys.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Banking, FinTech, Payments, Lending, Wealth or Insurance.
- Degree in Design from NID, IDC (IIT Bombay), IIT Institute of Design, Srishti, MIT ID, Pearl Academy or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Experience building scalable design systems.
